Position Title: Compliance Engineer
Location: Aurora, IL
Reports To: Senior Director, Global Quality
Job Summary: The Compliance Engineer will ensure all Safety and Security products are properly listed with the applicable agency. Develop and execute a compliance strategy for all projects listed in the product roadmap. Lead the internal and external (e.g., agency) communication regarding agency approvals and ensure project deliverables are met within cost and schedule budgets.
Responsible for leading all compliancerelated projects to ensure approvals are in place at the time of PSA/SSA.
Responsible for communicating standardrequirements and agency needs to cross-functional teams to ensure allelements of a compliance strategy are in place prior to project kick-off.
Responsible for ensuring agency effortsreflect best cost option for each agency project.
Responsible for communicating agencyrequirements and ensuring adherence to these requirements for all sourcedproducts.
Responsible for developing, maintainingand executing Annual Agency Budget.When variance is observed, responsible for ensuring correctiveaction is in place to meet / exceed annual goal.
Advanced knowledge of internal andexternal regulatory test methods and requirements
Capability of leading, workingindependently, and on cross-functional teams
Responsible for testing, technicaldocumentation, and correspondence with external and internal resources.
Applies standard practices andtechniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizesdiscrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series ofrelated detailed steps or processes
Generate data, correlate data and postcharts that drive continuous improvement and corrective action whereapplicable.
Bachelor's Degree withtechnical aptitude in engineering disciplines.
Advanced knowledge ofstandards relating to life safety products, and basic knowledge of otherproducts offered by First Alert.
FCC, BT Sig, Wifi Allianceexperience is considered a plus
Demonstrated experience in globallycommunicating, both orally and in writing, to First Alert team andassociated agencies.
Strong Project Managementbackground in order to lead multiple agency projects simultaneously.
Self-motivated and with apersistent and determined attitude when challenged.
Basic computer skills withknowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel (required) with ability to present datain meaningful graphical presentations is preferred
