The Vice President of Central Fill Operations carries full responsibility of the operations processes and logistics for the existing (6) and future Central Fill facilities. Serves as a key stakeholder/influencer in customer relationships. Additionally, this position will provide leadership support to each of the Central Fill management teams including strategic vision, employee engagement and development, positive conflict resolution, and innovation/process improvement. Ensures compliance with company and regulatory policies and requirements.
Gives work direction, resolves problems, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
Monitors and analyzes costs and assists the Central Fill Management teams in preparation of budgets.
Metrics – This person would be responsible to maintain the “ Central Fill Scorecard ” which includes metrics to track people, performance and quality. Items on the scorecard would include, but not be limited to, Cost per Script, Scripts per Hour, Expense per Script, Production by Area , etc.
Maintain the mid-level bonus program specific to Central Fill which would include performance to metrics noted above.
Strategize both up and down in the organization to stay ahead of changing customer needs, technology advancements and trends.
Motivate and drive results through on-site visits, follow-up on metric anomalies, conduct P&L reviews with team members, develop incentive programs to achieve superior results.
Responsible for ensuring processes are in place and adhered to whereby materials are received from associated distribution center, delivered to inventory and finished goods, are available to meet production schedules, packaged according to specification and shipped in a timely manner.
Drive consistency in all major processes, including purchasing, inventory management, and quality
Ensures the security and accountability of materials and goods with inventory control.
Coordinate either weekly or bi-weekly, conference calls as well as best practice sessions with each of the Central Fill Operations Managers and once per year conference type meeting. Makes certain that “non-optional” best practices are implemented at all sites.
Develop strong team of leaders providing coaching and appropriate development opportunities for direct reports.
Ensure high quality employee attraction, engagement and development at all levels, building bench strength through modeling of ICARE/iLEAD and development of a high-performing culture.
Effectively manage all people issues including, but not limited to, labor, turnover, generational, diversity.
Senior operations liaison person with National Accounts team (particularly VP, Strategic Business Initiatives) and with RNA customers.
Collaborate with Legal team to navigate through the complex State and Federal laws regarding Central Fill.
Primary point of contact with High Volume Solutions (HVS) once a facility is up and running. Acts as an advocate for the Operations Managers and Distribution Center Managers to ensure swift resolution to both software and hardware problems.
Evaluate current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives and develop and implement improved procedures and practices.
Projects and initiatives related to Regulatory Affairs, Pricing, new business onboarding, Community Relations, Public Policy, etc.
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent related work experience) required
Master’s Degree preferred
14 years operational experience including 12 years managerial experience
Location of position in DFW, TX area preferred, but not required.
3 years of pharmaceutical sales or operations experience
Experience working in highly matrix organization
Experience managing remote employees
Advanced knowledge of Operations/Distribution/Pharmacy Management
Excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills (verbal/written), and management skills
Advanced financial and business acumen to include knowledge of key financial statements drivers and levers.
Ability to develop, drive, implement and maintain innovation and promote continuous improvement around engineering processes, customer support, cost structure and quality initiatives.
Capable of handling multiple priorities and extensive time demands. Effectively navigates through complex situations, both internal and external, that may require multiple decision makers.
Must have high level of personal integrity.
Demonstrated ability to lead virtual teams and large operations sites that support McKesson’s iCARE and iLEAD principles.
Must have ability to travel a minimum of 60% of the time
