Cuna Mutual Director, Business Management in Madison, Wisconsin
Under the direction of the Business Unit Leader, this position is responsible for supporting the senior leaders in the business unit on key business initiatives and management of overall business operations and for providing high-level executive business support for senior leadership. This role is also responsible for working with senior leadership in planning, developing and executing around key business initiatives, as well as leading special projects as directed.

Job Responsibilities:List of general activities, duties and/or tasks typically performed within the job
Develop and manage annual and long-term operations and strategic plan along with overall management of the portfolios of project. Using the annual goals and strategic initiatives identify and align the appropriate operational projects, initiatives, sales events, reporting, operational budget, leadership activities, training and development of staff, and communication planning.
Responsible for the overall execution of the project portfolio. This includes leading the cross functional portfolio management team to scope projects, prioritize projects, align projects to strategic initiatives, brainstorm creative solutions, identify project tradeoffs, and ensure the overall execution of the project portfolio.
Facilitate the development of division strategic plans, cascade department strategic plans and for staffing, document and communicate plans to appropriate stakeholders.
Lead special projects and assignments as directed by the business unit leadership.
Provide executive support in business unit communication planning and development. Develop and execute a yearly communication plan, including speaking points and content for business meetings and events. Serve as the project manager and planner for division meetings on behalf of the business unit leader.
Meet with internal stakeholders to resolve complex business issues.
Actively engage with the division management team regarding key business initiatives; make appropriate recommendations and takes necessary steps in order to achieve successful business results.
Represent leadership in business planning meetings and through the company as needed or requested.
Stay abreast of existing and emerging corporate and division information technologies and systems to assess their impact on the business needs of the operations.
Develop close working relationships with other members of the business unit leadership to ensure successful attainment of goals and objectives.
List of general education, background and experience, knowledge, skills and abilities typically required to effectively perform the responsibilities of the job. Also include any required licenses and/or designations.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Insurance or related field or an equivalent trade-off of related professional work experience.
8 to 10 years of progressive project management experience and sales or product management/supervisory experience strongly preferred, in the insurance or financial services industry.
Experience developing, leading and managing across multiple business areas such as sales, operations, business planning, and management/business reporting.
Proven success and experience in collaborating and influencing multiple functions and groups to achieve desired sales/financial goals.
Strong communication skills demonstrated both in writing and verbally; ability to communicate on behalf of senior management.
Proven ability to prioritize, lead, and manage multiple projects and tasks to successful completion; strong project management experience required.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, strong business acumen required.
Strong time-management, planning and problem-solving skills.
Experience in Microsoft Office suite, spreadsheets, graphic software, and Internet/Intranet applications.
Ability to travel up to 30% based on business unit support needs.
