The Staff Accountant plays a major role in the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position will require a time commitment, since it produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. In addition, your responsibilities include communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes.

Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Partake in annual closing processes
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Adeptness in costing
Strong familiarity with data entry
Demonstrated knowledge of QuickBooks
Accounts receivable experience required
Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable
Numeric data entry experience preferred
Bank reconciliations experience highly desired
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Vow to meet business deadlines
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Skilled with ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
