Training and Development Supervisor, Operations

  • Develop, implement, and monitor training programs within an organization or department

  • Conduct orientation sessions

  • Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials

  • Create testing and evaluation processes

  • Prepare and implement training budget

  • Evaluate needs of company and plan training programs accordingly

  • Provide organization or department with classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops

  • Build solid cross-functional relationships

  • Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations

  • Deploy a wide variety of training methods

  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices

  • Provide coaching, motivation and support to enhance the engagement and success of a team of training specialists in attaining targets and goals

  • Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members

  • Conduct staff performance evaluations

  • Manage staff of classroom facilitators

  • Provide performance feedback for staff members

  • Evaluate trainers, curriculum and processes. Recommend and coordinate needed changes based on process analysis

  • Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement

  • Assist with the development of strategic plans

  • Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors

  • Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs

  • Provide logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluation, process measurements, and cost management

  • Plan the implementation and facilitation of activities and events, budget spending, material production and distribution, and other resources to ensure that operations are managed within authorized budgets

  • Evaluate effectiveness of training courses and provide summary reports to management, determining impact of training on employee skills and corporate goals

  • Collaborate with and connect internal stakeholders and liaise with various experts regarding instruction and training planning

  • Maintain a database of curriculum, materials, and personnel training records

  • Organize and conduct train-the-trainer sessions for in-house experts/trainers

  • Oversee and maintain in-house training facilities and necessary training equipment

  • BS degree in training, HR, education, psychology or other related field

  • Significant work experience as a trainer, coach, or training facilitator, preferably in a large corporate environment

  • Knowledge and successful implementation of instructional design theory

  • Familiar with both traditional and modern job training methods, trends and techniques

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency; familiarity with web delivery tools

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize work.
