Highmark Health Manager, Vendor Management in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
This job oversees a team that coordinates the management of external vendors, matrix management of internal partners (matrix partners), creating/monitoring associated service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), involvement in strategic initiatives (STIs), and regulatory/compliance and financial oversight in conjunction with the respective matrix partners.
Perform management responsibilities including, but not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.
Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
Lead the department to develop, maintain and manage external vendor partners including SLAs, KPIs and strategic planning.
Research possible vendors to meet changing member needs via effective and differentiating programs/services.
Define and develop contracts and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
Manage the vendor implementation process including data feeds, document processes, and communicating vendor capabilities to sales, marketing, and others as needed.
Manage relationships, performance and delivery with internal partners and lead matrix management efforts and initiatives.
Oversee the regulatory and compliance strategy and oversight related to vendor/matrix partner management activities.

- High School Diploma/GED
- Bachelor's Degree in Business
5 – 7 years experience in financial management, vendor management, sales and/or strategic planning
3 – 5 years experience in financial contract negotiation and management
Prior experience in the health insurance industry
Medical cost management experience
1 - 3 years prior management experience
Excellent inter-personal skills with emphasis on ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Attention to detail while working in a fast paced environment with competing and changing priorities
Ability to coordinate complex activities across functional lines of operations, under tight timelines
Ability to quickly assess situations, identify and provide recommendations on issues
