Current Need:

Senior Manager - Clinical Programs

Position Summary:

Responsible for the management of multiple clinical programs in the US Oncology Research organization. Duties include: the review of new business opportunities with the investigators of the respective therapeutic programs; oversight and accountability for the execution of all clinical trials (new and ongoing); management of the clinical trial managers that are accountable for each clinical trial in the program (from start-up to finish) and clinical trial associates; engagement with and support of the physician leaders of the clinical programs; and a commitment to ongoing process improvement and customer service.

The Clinical Manager will work will possess excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with Principal Investigators, Physicians, members of the US Oncology Research team, Sponsors/CROs as well as USOR Network sites. Conducts assigned duties in compliance with GCP, IHC, FDA Regulatory requirements, Industry Guidelines, SOPs, internal/departmental guidelines, and established timelines. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in nursing or healthcare-related field or equivalent experience

  • 4 years specific healthcare and/or systems-related experience including 2 years managerial experience

  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare and the specific systems area related to the management position

Critical Skills:

  • In-depth oncology knowledge and experience; Content focused

  • Technology capable - Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel) required; experience with electronic health records, experience with CTMS preferred.

  • Demonstrated adaptability, handles day to day work challenges confidently, is willing and able

  • Shows work commitment: sets high standards of performance; pursues aggressive goals and works efficiently to achieve them

  • If a remote employee, ability to manage a remote team

Preferred Skills:

  • Clinical Pharmacist, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Advanced Practice Nurse or other Clinician with advanced education, training and/or certification

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Oncology clinical research setting.

  • At least 5 years of experience in supporting clinical trials

  • Knowledge of and ability to effectively engage with technology/learning new technology platforms

  • CCRP, CCRA, CCRC certification is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for execution of clinical trials within the USOR network within assigned therapeutic areas

  • Responsible for the management of multiple clinical programs in US Oncology Research

  • Manages a team of research professionals to optimize execution of USOR objectives as well as career enhancement for team members

  • Serves as a resource to the USOR Business Development, Site Services, QA, Regulatory, and any internal USOR team or to Sponsor and/or CRO related to study opportunities and all clinical trials

  • Performs other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
